Stories and Themes 2012

I find that I am inspired by many different things, so my designs tend to range. lately I have been inspired by many things relating to architecture. Types of buildings' structures, elements of design used inside buildings, including the colors and textures used inspire me. I love every day items that are a little bit out of the ordinary, like shoes covered in feathers, or a chair with a funky pattern. I did some story boards to show some of my inspirations

  1. Blair, I love your second story board. You chose sweet silhouettes that have very intricate and detailed construction. I think this would make a great inspiration for a collection.

  2. I like the continuity in both of your storyboards. You could utilize them separately or together and your theme would still be clear.

  3. Your second storyboard is both romantic and classic, and the blacks and reds together look great together! I love the idea of using lace across the decollete for a sexy look that isn't too revealing.

  4. I think there is a lot of opportunity for inspiration by looking at Gaudi's architecture! Good choice. I do feel like your direction is far more clear in your second board, though.

  5. I think both boards are great. I would add some text to each board or a cute title so that the audience knows where your going with it.

  7. You did a really nice job on your boards. They are a nice mix of imagery, with just a little bit of fashion. You should name your inspiration/stories though. My choice would be what I am calling "Delicious" because that dessert looks awesome and it was the first thing I saw when I looked at that board! Good choice of colors and patterns!

  8. I like the red and black combination specially since you're using lace which gives the whole theme a romantic and sensual look. I do agree that you should give a title and specify the season on each board.

  9. I think both of your boards are very inspiring, but I wish the inspiration was a little more focused. I think your designs could be stronger if you have a more concrete focus. They just seem a little too general. But I do like them both. Especially the second one. Very romantic and elegant.

  10. Honestly I love both your boards so much that I can't even choose one. You did a great job pulling non fashion inspriations and I love the pretty woman still.

  12. the pastel bohemian vibe of your first board is exquisite madam and the layout is very pleasing. the second board manages to look like the same designer was behind it without looking too similar so major props. stunning.

  14. The textures on both boards are very pretty and dramatic yet soft at the same time! I love the print of the chair on the first board, but I really like the necklines on the dresses of the second board.
